As has been much requested, we've finally setup a Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/DarkestStarGames#
(Yay us! We're almost current!) And in other news, the pre-order for the 15mm sci-fi cars has closed, but shipping will not begin until Friday. Sorry abou the delay This is the final week to preorder the 5x 15mm sci-fi car set. Get in while you still can!
You may know that we have a Kickstarter that will be going live in the very near future. (And if you didn't, well, you do now!) Things are still be prepared, but it may have to launch before all is quite finished. But I guess that's the idea of KS, right? Get the funding to get the project done and into your hands... One of the things that has gone right is that a package of master figures for the first stretch goal arrived just the other day. Now, we don't want to give away too much, so we'll just give you the "Victorian Sexy" shot to tease you a little... I know, terribly mean. But hey, it's a squad of 11 (only 10 shown), with several different weapons, and there's also a bonus casualty! So, when the Kickstarter goes live throw some money at us and we'll be able to do a heck of a lot more stuff! Please!
We are very pleased to announce that we now have a 5-pack of 1/100 scale/15mm sci-fi cars now available for pre-order! $20usd gets you one each of (left to right) a Metro-Coup, a Cruiser (which comes with optional light-bar to make it a Police Cruiser), a Mini-Van, Super Sports Car, and Vintage Sports Car (pictured in front). Each resin model comes with both metal wheels and grav/vectored thrust nozzles so you can have either ground cars or those flying ones we were promised oh-so-long-ago!
This pre-order is set to deliver by April 7th. Should production take long, we will let you know. As usual pre-order items are slightly discounted and after the pre-order is over the price for the set will be raised to it's "normal". Note: flight stands are NOT included. You will need to provide your own. You can find this set on the pre-order page: HERE. Lookie, lookie! A couple of new releases for the Spec-Sec line have just been made available! First off we have an opposition squad for those Spec-Sec elite responders to face down: an External Security Squad from the nation of Kepark. These are some bad dudes. In essence they are an elite unit of Keparkian Special Forces whose job is to rapidly intervene in developing situations on foreign soil. The Keparkians prefer robotics to cybernetics (after a rather dreadful mass-population hijacking incident a dozen years ago or so) and as such include a pair of combat robots that have been stripped down to lessen weight and improve reaction time for CQB scenarios. With the heavy armor removed from their torso, they now sport ballistic vests, much like their human team members. The team is actually quite heavily armed, with the troopers carrying assault carbines with underslung multi-munition launchers and the combat robots armed with mulit-rifles. The world of cybernetics and robotics evolves rapidly, and new discoveries and breakthroughs are often the result of individuals tinkering in their own homes and offices rather than the products of corporate development. As such there are a large number of freelancers out there that sell their services to the highest bidder, and not all of their projects are the soft-and-fuzzy type. Robear Medisi is one such individual: Fond of wearing fashions that have looooong since expired, Robear has been busted for everything from committing back-alley illegal cyberwear implantations and "reclaimed" parts smuggling to drive-armor theft and deadly modification. In fact, it's the last charge for which he is currently being sought for questioning. A pair of Police Vantage drive-armors were stolen and apparently heavily modified. According to Spec-Sec confidential informants, those drive-armors have been hidden somewhere in the city, striped down and given both jump-jets and heavier arm weapons by Medisi and are currently up for sale to the highest bidder. Dubbed the "Jackdaw" by these same CI's for their grey and black covering, it's only a matter of time before some nefarious ne'er-do-well hands over a wad of cash and goes on a rampage...
All 3 of these releases are now available on the Spec-Sec page. Stay tuned folks, there is more to come! I had an email from a customer today who was alarmed that I had accidentally slipped in something extra into his order, and he was afraid someone else may have been shorted in theirs. This is a first for me, as no one else has said anything when I've placed a freebie in their package. So I explained to him that there was no mistake. Not only do I occasionally slip in extra stuff for repeat customers or those that spend a lot of money with me (maybe I need to start a rewards card program? ha ha!) but I also include extras in the 1st, 10th, 20th, and every 10 orders after that, per month and I try to remember to write it on the packing slip, but sometimes forget to. He just happened to be the 10th order of this month, so received something a little extra that would be of use with the other things he'd bought, and i hadn't scribbled as to why!
Today I'm shipping out the 20th order this month to a fella in France, all 6mm Federation stuff, so he'll be getting a couple of free Khiff things for them to blast. So, if you receive something extra, don't freak out! Thanks are appreciated, but not necessary. It's just my way of saying thank you for your support. The 15mm Puma, S'orhan, and Armored Command Truck pre-order is closed and all orders have been shipped out! These products have now been added to their assigned webstore locations and prices, but we've added platoon deals for the Grav armor.
So you might be wondering what's next? Well, in the immediate na new drive armor has just finished up its trial runs and is ready for deployment, as are some civilian "get around". As soon as there are some less-than-freezing temperatures to allow some paint to get sprayed on you'll see them! Stay tuned folks! Like just about everywhere in the US, it's been cold here. Very cold! I have had a difficult time reacquainting myself with my airbrush due to my big-ole air compressor being bolted to the floor in the corner of my cold cold cold garage. So, it has taken some time to get the S'orhan all sprayed up. It was a real trial, with having to clean the airbrush every minute of spray time or so, but it is done! Below you will see one S'orhan worked up with airbrush, the other (a miscast) painted by brush. Sound off on which you like better! Full side: The pair. Da' rumps: The green for the visual sensors didn't come out as bright as I'd like it to be, nor did the red filter (oil paint) that I applied to the sprayed tank have as much effect as I wanted it to. Next time I will mix up Johnny Ridden Zeon Red and make them look Orkie Fast!
Production of our newest items seems to be ahead of schedule! Some of the most recent pre-order items will be shipping out by this Friday, and once all of the orders are out we will wrap up this preorder and set the models to general release. This will include setting their rices up to their "normal", but a slight discount can still be had with "platoon deals".
And soon we will reveal more February releases, and maybe show off some other stuff in the works. We'll have to see if y'all behave! |
