I know it's been a while since there has been a new post or a new release, but I assure you Darkest Star Games is still running strong!
Very soon we will be releasing the following (all 15mm, and probably not in this order): - 2 new cars and a new van. All kind of grav based. - Accessory sets for the van and cars, like different front and rear ends, roof ladders and cargo pods. - Anti-air turret and MLRS turret for the Venturians. - Support and special weapons, new head and back mount options for the Spec-Sec Pugio Combat Armor. - Support weapons and back mount options for the Pilum Combat armors. Also in the pipes (being printed and molded) soon will be a tracked/hover recovery vehicle/ammo carrier for the Federation, a 4 wheeled scout car for the Venturians, and 6mm scale Free Traders (our first spaceships!) for both Federation and Venturian merchants to ply the space lanes. A new cab for 15mm trucks in the Spec-Sec line will be available, as well as a city bus. Oh, and did I mention the crews for 15mm grav-rafts? Almost done! Lots afoot! Under design: 15mm versions of the Federation and Venturian walkers, hover skirts for the Venturian ground armor, 1st generation grav modules for both the Federation and Venturian ground armor. once these are complete we will be moving on to 2nd generation vehicles, such as the Stormer, Lancer, Zil'Hiran and Goran, as well as some mid-tech infantry. Stay tuned...

Super deal for one week only! All four 6x trucks in the Spec-Sec range (Flat Bed Truck, Delivery Truck, Liquid Carrier Truck, and Police Carrier) are 30% off until Sunday September 3rd!
Everybody needs a delivery truck of some sort, get yours now! The "Pilum" Strike Battle Armors are now finally available! (Get them HERE) These mecha figures, expertly painted by MASTERGUNZ PAINT WORX, are stuff of nightmares for those who have to face them. Coming in bewildering variety of loadouts, the Pilum is a battlefield juggernaut capable of fulfilling many different mission profiles, especially if they involve destroying things. Various mission packs are usually available to units in the field to be able to customize their rides to the days mission simply by popping a different weapon or module onto the rear attachment points and maybe changing out forearms modules or hand weapons. The quartet shown above are the notorious "Cherry Daggers", a sometimes-mercenary-sometimes-vigillante group. These scallywags use the Strike variant of the Pilum, shedding cumbersome back-mounted weapons for booster modules, hand weapons and combat claws. This loadout allows the "Cherrys" to move a lightning speed to their objectives and get out in one piece. Jumping, flying, and power boosting through any terrain, the Cherries prefer urban operations and have both had conflict with and worked beside Sec-Sec forces on multiple occasions. Regarded as a nuisance, it's only a matter of time before they push the envelope too far... Pilum Combat Armors, actually named the Kombit Mashink-14 "Svird Bist" (Blade Beast) by the manufacturer Haitmar Progaktiks, are a manned unit where the pilot sits enfolded in the chest area with their knees drawn in. Rather than having a waldo-type control system like the Pugio Combat Armor, the Pilum uses an brain-wave interface coupled with minimal movement magnification. This system takes a lot of practice to use, and virtually guarantees that someone untrained cannot just run off with the expensive hardware and cause havoc at will. One of the Pilum's oustanding weapons is it's combat claw arm. This module can be used on either the right or left arm, and besides having a wicked 3-proged slashing and crushing device the module is able to accept a wide variety of internal weapons. Caseless machineguns, auto grenade launchers, gas pellet bursters, or even short duration beam weapons can be switched out with minimal effort in the field. A real boon for any unit facing changing battlefield conditions or sudden mission profile shifts. Most recently, Pilums in Strike configuration have been used on two occasions by the Popular Humanist Front to cause terror and destruction in Constance City in an effort to derail a voting referendum on simulacrum rights. In both cases Spec-Sec Pugios were able to destroy or disable the attackers after they had cut through Parmas the Police had deployed as a precaution. Despite being unsuccessful in their efforts, the PHF and others are sure to be deploying more Pilums in the near future...
Howdy folks!
Well here we are, meteorological Fall (in the northern hemisphere, that is...). Time for some new releases! So, as of right this minute, the 15mm versions of the Federation Scorpion LACV, and the Venturian Kh'Erisan MBT and Kh'Lrian IFV are now available for general sale. If you didn't know, the development of these 3 vehicles was funded via a Kickstarter campaign that was successful because we here at Darkest Star Games have the coolest, most awesome and discerning customers! Heck ya! In pre-order news, the long-awaited Venturian Lift Infantry squad is now up for Pre-order, and word is that the Command squad will possibly be ready next month. Maybe some Federation opposition too. We will see... Also very soon, the previously teased Spec-Sec High Intensity Response Team should be along in a matter of weeks (or hopefully days!) Keep your eyes open, there is more to come! Things are still rolling along here at DSG. Manufacturing of the models for our Kickstarter project is well under way and will begin shipping out to supporters in 2 weeks. After that, the 15mm versions of the Scorpion, Kh'Erisan and Kh'Lrian will be added to he webstore and our first Venturian Lift Infantry Squad will be available for pre-order. Might even have a command unit available by then as well. And not to worry, the Federation Lift Infantry aren't far behind. But what else is going on? Well, the long awaited Spec-Sec High Intensity Response Team is currently being moulded, as is a new Spec-Sec Team Leader: Borg Koios. "But what will they look like?" you ask? Here's a little picy for ya! And their backsides... There will be more info on these dudes as soon as we have a release date. But suffice to say, we think they're brilliant!
But is there more? Why yes, yes there is. But you're going to have to wait for it for just a little bit longer... This is the final week to preorder the 5x 15mm sci-fi car set. Get in while you still can!
We are very pleased to announce that we now have a 5-pack of 1/100 scale/15mm sci-fi cars now available for pre-order! $20usd gets you one each of (left to right) a Metro-Coup, a Cruiser (which comes with optional light-bar to make it a Police Cruiser), a Mini-Van, Super Sports Car, and Vintage Sports Car (pictured in front). Each resin model comes with both metal wheels and grav/vectored thrust nozzles so you can have either ground cars or those flying ones we were promised oh-so-long-ago!
This pre-order is set to deliver by April 7th. Should production take long, we will let you know. As usual pre-order items are slightly discounted and after the pre-order is over the price for the set will be raised to it's "normal". Note: flight stands are NOT included. You will need to provide your own. You can find this set on the pre-order page: HERE. Lookie, lookie! A couple of new releases for the Spec-Sec line have just been made available! First off we have an opposition squad for those Spec-Sec elite responders to face down: an External Security Squad from the nation of Kepark. These are some bad dudes. In essence they are an elite unit of Keparkian Special Forces whose job is to rapidly intervene in developing situations on foreign soil. The Keparkians prefer robotics to cybernetics (after a rather dreadful mass-population hijacking incident a dozen years ago or so) and as such include a pair of combat robots that have been stripped down to lessen weight and improve reaction time for CQB scenarios. With the heavy armor removed from their torso, they now sport ballistic vests, much like their human team members. The team is actually quite heavily armed, with the troopers carrying assault carbines with underslung multi-munition launchers and the combat robots armed with mulit-rifles. The world of cybernetics and robotics evolves rapidly, and new discoveries and breakthroughs are often the result of individuals tinkering in their own homes and offices rather than the products of corporate development. As such there are a large number of freelancers out there that sell their services to the highest bidder, and not all of their projects are the soft-and-fuzzy type. Robear Medisi is one such individual: Fond of wearing fashions that have looooong since expired, Robear has been busted for everything from committing back-alley illegal cyberwear implantations and "reclaimed" parts smuggling to drive-armor theft and deadly modification. In fact, it's the last charge for which he is currently being sought for questioning. A pair of Police Vantage drive-armors were stolen and apparently heavily modified. According to Spec-Sec confidential informants, those drive-armors have been hidden somewhere in the city, striped down and given both jump-jets and heavier arm weapons by Medisi and are currently up for sale to the highest bidder. Dubbed the "Jackdaw" by these same CI's for their grey and black covering, it's only a matter of time before some nefarious ne'er-do-well hands over a wad of cash and goes on a rampage...
All 3 of these releases are now available on the Spec-Sec page. Stay tuned folks, there is more to come! The 15mm Puma, S'orhan, and Armored Command Truck pre-order is closed and all orders have been shipped out! These products have now been added to their assigned webstore locations and prices, but we've added platoon deals for the Grav armor.
So you might be wondering what's next? Well, in the immediate na new drive armor has just finished up its trial runs and is ready for deployment, as are some civilian "get around". As soon as there are some less-than-freezing temperatures to allow some paint to get sprayed on you'll see them! Stay tuned folks! ...upon them models! The Spec-Sec armored command truck has so far been brush painted with base colors and a little bit of ink. I've been waiting for some custom decals to arrive, but I'm starting to think they will not. Sad face. Well, at least I can get on with further detailing and weathering! figure from Blue Moon Manf is for scale. Love them dudes! For the Puma and S'orhan I've busted out the old airbrush. It's been too cold here for it to work effectively, but I've done what I can! The Puma too is ready for weathering , though I've decided to skip the filter beforehand (the S'orhan is still drying from filter application. I wanted something red so had to use oil paints. Can't tell the result yet, but here's to hoping!). Again, I have been waiting for decals, but am now pressing on. There is more to come, and updates as we go along! Remember, there is only 3 weeks left on the current pre-order. Get
