The first releases for December for Spec-Sec and Colony-15 are now up on the store and available for purchase. So get on over there and check them out! (that is, if you didn't see the last blog posting. If you've already seen them then go buy some! They're pretty awesome!)
Oh, and since I neglected to mention it before, the new Spec-Sec minis were sculpted by Chris Elizzardo, and damn he rocks!

Alas, we will finally be releasing some... er, new releases! ...just as soon as the webstore is fixed. (if it isn't one thing, it's another!) Without further ado, here they are (previewed)! For Colony-15 we have "15CL2 Colonist Adventurers with Respirators." Yep, these are the same figures as 15CL1, but now able to breathe during those Pale Wind storms or while tracking Zonii war-parties in the canyonlands. 5 pack for $4.00 USD. And we can't leave our brave Colonist Scout without a filter, now can we? "15CC3 Colonist Scout with Respirator." Single figure $1.00 USD. Don't think Spec-Sec is being left out! Agent Ionia is getting some backup! Meet Agent Diegylis, second in command of Spec-Sec Division 11. He's a lot stronger than he looks, thanks to an advanced synthetic combat body designed exclusively for injured Spec-Sec operatives, able to wield heavy weapons as if they were common small arms. And did I mention that he's still pissed about being mostly blown up by Satrae terrorists? Ya, remaining cells better be watching their backs... "15SS102 Agent Diegylis in Medium Intensity Armor" single figure $1.00 USD But what about when he's not on duty? Well, Agent Diegylis is a bit old school. He tends to wear comfortable clothing that went out of fashion half a century ago, drives an old Lancer sports car that is just about as old (coming soon!), and prefers to carry a hand-canon that was a trend 25 years after the last time his trademark mohawk was popular. Obviously our man Diegylis is not one to worry about blending in! "15SS103 Agent Diegylis Casual" single figure $1.00 USD Davus is what most people would consider an old man. Conscripted into the Rogarian Armed Forces in his late teens, Davus was thrown into the unforgiving meat grinder of the battle for Hostana City during the Grastam Intervention. Rogaria lost the war, badly, but after surviving day-to-day street fighting for three years Davus was "fostered" into the Ylkanii Special Services, where his body was severely damaged in a lifter crash during a combat extraction eighteen years ago. Because of his talents Davus was one of the first "new generation" fully conversion synthetic body recipients and his service continued for another decade before he "retired". Now a freelance coordinator occasionally employed by Spec-Sec, as well as some more nefarious groups, Davus keeps his old clunky prosthetic body as updated as it can continue to handle. "15SS104 Borg Davus" single figure $1.00 USD "Witnesses say that everything was normal before the incident. No hint of what was coming. The Doll just suddenly arched its back, flung wide its arms, and leaped onto the table screeching before tearing into the restaurant goers like some mad animal. Tell tales indicate that this was an older personal bodyguard model bought cheaply on the black market and reformatted for service industry performance, thus the extendible finger claws and enhanced reflexes. Agent Algol is running what few numbers we've found, but I'm pretty sure of it. There's no telling what set it off like that, maybe a regressive memory trigger or transgressed behavior pattern it detected which activated a buried subroutine, but we're not ruling out foul play or terrorist involvement, not with eighteen dead from this rampage..." "15SS401 Rampaging Geisha Bot" single figure $1.00 USD "It was HUGE! Like almost eight feet tall huge! And so quiet. It just sort of stole through the trees like a shadow then it was on them, flipping the command car like it was a toy and tearing it open with those claws. They didn't stand a chance. It was three, maybe five seconds before we could get over the surprise and start to fire at it. Guns popped out from hidden panels somewhere on that thing and it just mowed us down as it withdrew. I don't know if it was a Full Borg or a Combat Android, but I don't EVER want to see one again..." "15SS402 Type C combat borg #1" Single figure with separate arms $1.25 USD (two more poses are forthcoming) And there you have it. I will do mybest to get better photos for the webstore and maybe even paint a few, but i thought you'd like to see these critters as soon as they were ready. As soon as the webstore is repaired they will be up and announcements will be made! The Zonii have been quite the popular critters since their introduction, outselling everything else we have released to date. And what's not to like? They're semi-primitive, look sort of scary, and ride ill-tempered beasties that are just as likely to munch sulfuric acid-laced native fungi as snack on meaty-delicious human colonists. There obviously needs to be more Zonii. There are more beast poses in the works, as well as new critters and "pack mule" versions of the original, but that's not enough. So sound off and let us know what you'd like to see for the Zonii, and we'll set to expanding the range! We hope everyone had a safe, fun, and relaxing Memorial Day holiday! There was way too much BBQ around here, but at least we able to keep the Zonii riding beasts out of the pool and well fed without having to resort to tossing them unruly children... Hey, speaking of Zonii, today is the last day to get your entries in for the Zonii Dwelling Scratch Build contest. Hurry hurry hurry! fame and prizes await the winners!* (*the fame only applies locally and does not impart any national or global celebrity status. Not even a little.) Us: "The Zonii are a "primitive" humanoid hunter-gatherer species with a warrior tradition, who are homeless." You: "I'm sorry. What?" Us: "Oh yes, they are quite homeless. Not a dwelling in sight. All those mouths to feed and riding beasts to care for, and not a single shelter for the children to duck into to get away from the Pale Winds that blast through their territories." You: "Well that's horrible! Someone should really do something about that." Us: "Indeed. That's where you come in..." It's contest time!
The Zonii need places to live, and it's up to YOU to scratch build them! The rules are simple: 1. Your entry must be completely scratch built and sized to 15mm scale figures. 2. You may not use anything from any other miniatures manufacturer in your build. 3. You must take pictures of your materials before commencing your build and include it/them with your entry. You do not have to use all of the materials you show, but if you add any materials to the build after the initial photo is taken you must photo document its addition. 4. You must include at least one "in progress" photo with your entry. 5. Your final entry photos must include at least a single Zonii miniature next to/inside/on top of/inspecting your completed dwelling. 6. All entries must be received by 1a.m. CST on May 28, 2013 to be considered for the contest. Entries should be emailed to [email protected]. You may enter as many different dwellings as you like, though each must be a separate entry. Our favorite entry will receive a $50 USD voucher for our store, while our second favorite will receive a $25 USD voucher for our store. When all is said and done we will post pictures of your entries here on the blog, as well as in our gallery. We reserve the right to turn away or ignore any entry that is crude, derisive, or that we feel does not fit with the spirit of this friendly contest. Get to it! We can't wait to see what you creating geniuses come up with! We do! We do!
We like them so much that during the month of May we will be running out first contest. Woohoo! First prize will be a $50 USD voucher for our store, while second prize will be a $25 USD voucher. What's the contest all about? Well, for now we'll just say the words "scratch building" and "Zonii". Full background and rules will be posted on May 1st. We can't wait! Jason Moore of Micropanzer.com painted up a host of Colony-15 figures, and put them up for sale! (They are now sold) He does this occasionally, so keep your eyes peeled on places like TMP and ebay. He also takes direct commissions, so feel free to badger him. ...and did we mention that there are a LOT more pictures of his work in our Gallery? Well, there are! Hey all! Check out these Colonist Adventurers painted by Scott P. Are they rough-and-tumble and ready to ride out, or what? You can see more of these two frontiersmen (er... frontiersman and frontierswoman, we mean!) in the gallery, as well as at Scott's fine Blog. *edit: apologies, I had previously mixed up emails from Scott P. and Jay G. the changes have been made... Howdy all!
The pre-orders of the second wave of Colony-15 miniatures shipped out at the end of last week, right on time! And now that we have plenty of stock they are now in general release. We will get some newer pictures up just as soon as some of the figures are painted up. (It's spring break, don't ya know. Busy busy busy) On a related note, we've had to adjust our shipping rates due to the increases made by the US Postal Service. We really wish we didn't have to do this, but there is only so much cost that can be absorbed before it becomes a major drain. We apologize for the pain this will cause, and know that we feel it to. Solidarity, cousins! Keep an eye out for sneak peeks of upcoming releases. You know they're coming... |
