The first three poses of our 15mm Spec-Sec Police Battle-armor have been completed!  Sculpted by Paolo Fabiani of 3Evan (in Italy, no less!), these dynamic looking brutes will soon be making their way into molds  and thence onto the table-top.  Each pack will contain 5 weapons (3x Suppressed BA SMG, 1x Anti-cyborg/BA rifle, and 1x Anti-BA riot launcher) so you can mix and match you weapons load-out to fit the situation.  Additional weapons for upgrade packs are under development as we speak (well, as we write anyways!)

Each pack will also come with an assortment of the "bunny ear" A/V units (with at least 6 of the closed models per pack), with the backs of the figures able to have them glued in any position from all the way up to all the way down.

On with the pictures!  (and please disregard the putty holding things together, it's just there for the pictures)

Pretty nifty, neh?  We are really excited about them and can't wait to put them out there for you.  Great stuff from Mr. Fabiani!

Before we go, we just wanted to give a shout out to the Tabletop Fix blog:  http://ttfix.blogspot.com.ar/
These gents are doing a fantastic job keeping us abreast of the latest gaming news.  Keep it up good sirs!

Yep.. Definitly going to pick some up when they come out. Can already see some conversions planned and plotting the paintjobs.

Pretty cool, 15mm was sorely missing hi-tech power armor and these fit well. I have to ask though, is the "head" just a sensor suite? Assuming the small arms are master pair, I'd say the driver's head is somewhere in the chest, right?

Glad you like it!

The pilot's head is indeed in the chest. As these are Police models being anthropomorphic is considered a good thing when dealing with civilians or in peopled areas. Does make the chest armor a bit thin though, since the Master arms need range of motion...

Are the arms going to be separate on the production models?

That will allow a lot of flexibility and freedom in reposing and mixing matching.

So, are you people are basically trying to get yourselves sued by Shirow Masamune, his publishers, and their affiliated legals? Those are Guges Police landmates pretty much directly from the manga, and your fake Fuchikomas aren't fooling anyone either.

@Ravn,

First of all, that is not a Guges. The Guges has a different style head. Also, I'd like to point out that to say it looks exactly like a Guges is like saying a car looks exactly like a Mustang. Which version of the Guges? The one from the early books of Appleseed or the later? The original animated movie or the later computer generated movies? Perhaps it looks like the Guges from the video games? Darkest Star's design combines elements of the CADMOS along with other general landmate features.

What Darkstest Star is doing is something nobody has done before - presenting a dedicated line of miniatures inspired by, and faithfully portraying machines from various anime series.

None of the designs presented is a direct copy of anything from an anime. Yes, they are evocative of those designs, but to throw around words like "fake" and insinuating any sort of attempt at wrong-doing or such is no more founded than anybody who has been inspired by Aliens, Star Wars, or those other games that try to capture the feel of another popular media source.

I am forever amused by the amount of self-styled IP defenders on the internet, especially when they clearly miss the point between copy and derivative work. It's no more a direct copy than Infinity Gujia tag is.

Any idea on the time frame for release and price per 3 pack?

As soon as the sculpts arrive from Italy we will start the molding process, but that may be up to 2 weeks from the time we get them to the mold maker to their release. Price is TBD as we do not yet know how many molds we will need, but each will not cost more than an average 28mm figure (as they are approx. the same size.) We will let you know soonest!
